Hanuman is a popular Hindu god who is monkey faced, all mighty powerful, courageous, having unlimited strength, is the incarnation or reflection of Shiva himself and ardent devotee of Rama, Hanuman has many names, Anjaneya, Kesari Nandan, Maruti, Maharudra, Bajrang Bali, Hanuman was born to the Anjana and Kesari. His mother Anjana was an apsara who was born on earth as a female vanara due to a curse. She would be redeemed from this curse on her giving birth to a son. The Valmiki Ramayana states that his father Kesari was the son of Brihaspati and that Kesari also fought on Rama's side in the war against Ravana. Anjana and Kesari performed intense prayers to Shiva to get a child. Pleased with their devotion, Shiva granted them the boon they sought.
Hanuman Puja is really beneficial for attaining strength, wisdom, knowledge. Hanuman Vidhi is performed on all Tuesdays and on auspicious days dedicated to Hanuman. Here is a simple procedure to perform the puja. The puja is best performed early morning. Some people also do Hanuman Puja on Saturday to get rid of Shani Dosha.
Things needed for Hanuman Puja:
Hanuman murti, painting or yantra, red colored cloth, kumkum, flowers, water, banana or any fruit, usual puja items like diya, agarbatti etc.

Hanuman Puja Vidhi:After taking bath, clean the place meant to do the puja, offer prayers to Ganesha, clean the hanuman murti with water, sprinkle some water on your head, spread the red colored cloth, place the Hanuman murti or painting or yantra, meditate for sometime in front of the murti. say your prayers, apply some kumkum on Hanuman murti, apply some kumkum on your forehead, light the diya, light incense or agarbhathi (optional), offer flowers, offer banana or fruit, pour panchamrit on Lord Hanuman Murti and yantra, pour pure water on Lord Hanuman Murti and Yantra as well, take some water in your hand, think of your wish you want to get done and pray to the lord for its fulfillment.
It is very important during the puja to have chaste mind and good thoughts. Trust the lord and keep faith that your wish would be fulfilled. Again put kumkum on Lord Hanuman Murti and Hanuman Yantra. Keep some water near the place of worship. Put rice, flowers, supari and gur (jaggery) in front of the Yantra, fold your hand and recite the following mantras.

While chanting each mantra place a supari with vermillon on it, in front of the yantra. After this, chant the following mantra (at least 5 mala):
मनोजवं मारुतातुल्यावेगम जितेन्द्रियं बुद्धिमतां वारिस्थं, वातात्मजं वानारायूथ्मुख्यम श्रीरामदूतं सरनाम प्रपद्ये. | Manojavam Maarutatulyavegam Jitendriyam Buddhimataam Varistham, Vaataatmajam Vaanarayoothmukhyam Sriramdootam Saranam Prapadhye. |
